This cultivar reproduces quickly but is easily attacked by diseases, especially panama wilt disease. It is mainly grown in the backyard or on bunds of paddy fields and is resistant to drought. Basically, there are two types, one is prone to have more seeds (Pisang Awak Biji) and another which is more popularly grown has none to few seeds. The plant height is between 2.5-3.0 meters. It will take 90-100 days of flowering to harvest. The weight of a bunch is approximately 14-20 kg.
