Kebun Reyhan

WHY ARE WE CALLED KEBUH REYHAN?

Reyhan is derived from Arabic origins. Reyhan means gift of God. In the middle east Reyhan is a way of saying basil, the same as when Indonesians say kemangi and Malaysians say selasih. Here in Herbalwise, one of our highlights are the many basil varieties we grow. We have many basil varieties from all over the world. One of our prized basil variety is called the Reyhan Basil. Also known as the Persian Basil, this gorgeous purple coloured basil is a prolific producer of pleasant tasting leaves for your culinary adventures. Not only is the taste excellent, but the sturdy branches, the wonderful aroma, and large leaves make for a great ornamental plant. We are happy and humbled to be able to help care for god’s gift of life and we wish to share this joy with everyone by welcoming you to our Kebun Reyhan.

Kebun Reyhan – Serdang

Working closely together with the Malaysian Department of Agriculture, the Serdang nursery serves as grounds for Herbalwise to grow its plants. As of today, it has grown from a small private nursery into a large Garden Centre with over 600 varieties of basil, ginger and other plants and rare herbs.

Kebun Reyhan is able to grow all types of plants including plants that particularly grow in highlands thanks to its climate controlled misting greenhouses. This makes the nursery in Serdang home to a wide array of highland plants which would otherwise not be found in lowlands.
