(Musa Acuminata Colla, group AA)

Pisang kapas group is a very vigorous diploid with numerous suckers and sustainable yield over many cycles. A distinctive feature of this group is the spiraling arrangement of the fingers on a compact bunch. It has no commercial value as a dessert clone, being of poorer eating quality, it is popularly processed into figs (dried or smoked) due to the smallness of the finger and its high sugar content. This clone is especially popular in Johor. The plant is susceptible to Fusarium wilt disease. The plant height is between 1.8-2.0 meters. It will take 60-70 days of flowering to harvest. The weight of a bunch is approximately 10-14 kg.
