Pisang berangan currently enjoying export markets to neighboring countries, especially in Southeast Asia. However, the plant is susceptible to Sigatoka leaf disease and Fusarium wilt disease. The peel is smooth, ripening from green to yellow when mature, and as the peel continues to age, it may develop a slight orange hue with black spots and markings. The fruits are best consumed when fully ripe and bear a unique sweet and sour, tropical flavor with subtle acidity. The plant height is between 2.5-3.0 meters. It will take 70-80 days of flowering to harvest. The weight of a bunch is approximately 15-25 kg.
