Durian Udang Merah/ Red Prawn Durian (Durio Zibethinus Var. ‘Red Prawn)- Pokok Hidup/ Live Plant

The characteristic of Red Shrimp Durian is that it usually grows in a longitudinal shape like a rugby ball. The underparts of this breed usually have a long, pointed tip made up of thick skin. This makes this durian more difficult to open than other durians because of the thickness of the part. The weight is in the range of 1.5kg to 3kg. Characteristics of Ripe Red Shrimp Durian is dark brown in color. Due to the extremely small size of its spines, it appears as if it is spineless and smooth from a distance. This durian was given the name “Red Shrimp” because of its reddish-orange filling and the curved shape of its flesh when inside the skin as if it were the shape of a large red shrimp because the seafood is one of the favorite foods of the people in Penang.
