Cempaka Wali / Samoan Gardenia

(Tabernaemontana africana)

This evergreen shrub is slow-growing but blooms year-round. The flowers have a wonderful vanilla spice scent which can be smelled during the day and at night. The plant is harvested from the wild mostly for its timber and latex.
